Iranian Police Arrest 110 Suspects in Connection with Suspected Poisoning Incidents in Schools"

Iranian police have arrested 110 people in connection with suspected poisoning incidents in schools across the country.

tudents have reported feeling sick due to unpleasant fumes since November, mainly in girls' schools. There has been no information on the individuals or chemicals involved, and officials are investigating the situation.

Some officials have suggested that mass hysteria could be a factor, and others have indicated that some incidents may have been copycat pranks. While there have been no fatalities, hundreds of students have been hospitalized.

It is unclear what is happening because independent media is heavily restricted, and journalists have been arrested. A government panel investigating the incidents has received complaints from as many as 5,000 students in 230 schools across 25 provinces, while Human Rights Activists in Iran believes over 7,000 students have been affected.

A similar phenomenon occurred in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2012, but no evidence was found to support the suspicions, and it appeared to be a mass psychogenic illness.
